Suitcase. Hilton London Syon Park, Brentford

Image
You all know how much I love to travel. But with my international explorations comes a lot of wait time. Airports. Planes. Trains. Stations. That's why when an opportunity to getaway at home came up I jumped at the chance. Jumped right over to the Hilton London Syon Park , just a hop and a skip away from Fulham. How's that for travel with no wait time? Coat (similar) / Gilet / Boots Tucked away in a corner of London you wouldn't think to explore, the Hilton Syon Park is a true hidden gem. The rooms are so chic, furnished with modern Victorian designs, and their plush chairs just lure you in where you could easily lose an afternoon with the paper. Our balcony overlooked the grounds so after a quick change of clothes we set off to explore Syon Park itself before the light faded. The grounds here are truly magical. I felt like I had stepped into an Enid Blyton book, expecting to spot the Magic Faraway Tree at any moment. The park isn't all neat and manicured but its over...

Style It. Dressed For Spring

Image
It's so close I can almost taste it. Spring. Merely seven sleeps until we farewell the briskest season, one I'm not sad to see go. Winter and I have never really gotten along, particularly since I moved to the northern hemisphere - all that shivering and copious layers of clothing is just no fun. Last week, in honour of farewelling winter, Jessica Marano and I took to Hyde Park to snap some pictures. Since the blossom trees obviously think it's already spring with their blooms, I thought it was only fitting that I followed suit and brought out some swishy dresses. Dress (more sizes also available here ) / Heels   Reclaimed Vintage Dress - similar here and here  /  Over The Knee Boots After snapping some pictures we even dabbled with a little video for your viewing pleasure. One Day. I’m Just Not That Into You – 5 Ways To Avoid The 3rd Date

I've got a bit of a light-hearted read for you today. Here's something I worked on for The Huffington Post. Ladies, enjoy... I'm just not that into you... For the fellas those six words are just so easy. They say it how it is and leave broken hearts trailing in their wake, seemingly without a care. For us girls, it’s a little tougher. Unless you’ve got a truly cold-heart, when we want to give someone the flick we have to consider the emotions involved; primarily guilt. We all know that feeling of panic when it’s crunch time; he’s proposed date three but you’re sooooo not keen. How can you bail? What’s the perfect excuse to never [ever] see him again? This conundrum is guaranteed to cross the mind of every 20-something in this modern dating age. You’ve put yourself on the line. You’ve had date one: drinks. It’s full of awkward chit-chat where you essentially interview each other in order to discover who the person sitting opposite you is. By the end of the date you’re not to...

Suitcase. Geneva & Morgins Switzerland - Travel Guide

Image
I've had ski gear in the back of my closet for over 2 years. Unused ski gear might I add. So when the chance to go to the mountains with one of my Swiss friends arose, I jumped at it. Early morning Friday and it was time to jet, set, go. We were headed for the alps at the border of France, but first a stop off in Geneva to explore. For some reason I had expected a lot of modernity in Geneva but I was wrong. This city is very historic and appears very, very old. I guess since Switzerland escaped the world wars it's no wonder their architecture has an olden' day charm. We wandered through the old town and stopped off at St Pierre Cathedral where the sunlight seemed to wink at me through the stained glass window. Then with grumbling tummies we decided it was time for a well-earned lunch, after all we had been up since 4am... Who would have thought I'd find some of the best pasta of my life in Switzerland? But you better believe it. If you have the chance, definitely stop b...
