Style It. Birds Of A Feather

Image
Having grown up living on a lake, I guess you could say I'm very used to all manner of wildlife. A bit of a bird watcher if you will. As a child I fed the ducks and watched swans hatch eggs in my backyard with wonder; amazed at how a fluffy, squeaky little grey thing could transform into a great majestic bird. London's not short of wildlife either and when I took some crumbs to Hyde Park the other week, they all came a flocking. Literally. I could hear David Attenborough's iconic voice narrating the whole thing. We were blessed with some magical clear skies that day; shooting in the sunshine is always a treat. If you find yourself with some spare time this weekend, then get yourself down to the park. After all, now that spring's here, it's officially picnic season. The best time of year. Style It. Dressed For Spring

Image
It's so close I can almost taste it. Spring. Merely seven sleeps until we farewell the briskest season, one I'm not sad to see go. Winter and I have never really gotten along, particularly since I moved to the northern hemisphere - all that shivering and copious layers of clothing is just no fun. Last week, in honour of farewelling winter, Jessica Marano and I took to Hyde Park to snap some pictures. Since the blossom trees obviously think it's already spring with their blooms, I thought it was only fitting that I followed suit and brought out some swishy dresses. Dress (more sizes also available here ) / Heels   Reclaimed Vintage Dress - similar here and here  /  Over The Knee Boots After snapping some pictures we even dabbled with a little video for your viewing pleasure. Style It. Cream In Kensington

Image
My grandmother was from Kensington so I grew up with this idyllic view of the place. She told stories of a beautiful home, lovely English neighbours and a classic atmosphere. When I moved to London and saw it for myself, it didn't disappoint. This is the neighbourhood where I feel most at home. Creamy houses with neat fences, bright doors and manicured gardens. Knit   / Jeans / Boots / Hat If ever I have a day spare for a stroll, this is where you'll always find me. Walking these streets or sitting in a cafe watching the world go by. The day we did this shoot I met a lovely old man who complimented my hat as he shuffled by with his walker. We got to talking over a cuppa and I was engrossed for an hour listening to all his stories about the area; he'd lived here all his life. After all, it is a dream-like place. I know you'll love it... Style It. Magical Mews Of London

Image
It’s stumbling across beautiful places like this in my London wanderings that make me fall in love with this city even more. Who would have thought all those years ago that London’s humble mews of stables and carriage homes would become some of the city’s most sought after real estate. I much prefer these quaint cottage-y homes with their cobblestoned lanes to some of the grander mansions. I think they have much more character. I was thrilled to have the chance to work with photographer Jessica Marano again last week. So not too many words today, it’s all about the photos… These guys  make the most lust-worthy skirts - plenty of feminine swish! Heels (similar on sale!) Style It. 5 Fashion Rules That Were Made To Be Broken

Image
Fashion is such an art. Deciding what to wear each day could easily be compared to a highly important equation. You’ve got function combining with style, daily attitude and trends, not to mention the external factors like weather and occasion that come into play. No wonder picking out our clothes each morning is such a major decision. At least for me it is. Thank goodness we have magazines, blogs, celeb style and Pinterest to inspire us. They’re like our rulebooks… But sometimes it’s good to break the rules. It’s a bit like being in a room with a big red button that says don’t push . What do you want to do? Push it of course. Thankfully breaking these fashion rules probably won’t have dire consequences [although I can’t say the same for any red buttons]. At its core, fashion has always been about pushing the envelope, trying new things and altering the status quo, so with that in mind check out the fashion rules I think were made to be broken… Black & Navy: Never The Two Shall Meet...

Style It. 9-5 Ways To Wear

Image
Work Work Work. Sadly (or happily, depending on your situation) we will spend 20% of our average lifetimes at work. That’s a fairly big chunk, one fifth in fact so I say you better spend it looking good. Now that summer holidays are over and you’ve topped up the last of your tan before winter strikes, it’s time to get back to work and show them who’s boss with some killer style… From the all-important interview to casual Fridays, I’ve selected some outfits to inspire you so there’s no more wasted time staring mindlessly into your wardrobe each morning. Choose these looks and I guarantee you’ll be working nine to fine… Working Nine To Fine When your alarm goes off daily at 7am and you roll out of bed, you don’t want to have to think too hard, especially when you haven’t had your coffee yet. My suggestion is to choose a sleek dress for mornings made easy. This look promises to make Monday to Friday effortless. Pair it with a smart robe coat and it will take you from 9am coffee to 9pm coc...

Style It. August Celeb Street Style

Image
This month’s street style round up almost became an ode to Emily Ratajkowski. Her looks have been so on-point throughout August I feel like I’ve seen her in an incredible outfit every single day. To keep it interesting I thought I better find some other babes to round it out, but full props to Emily – I’d love to raid your wardrobe… Dress // Over The Knee Boots // Antique Ring // Ring Pack Here she is in what I think is my favourite look of hers this month. The golden girl of the moment, Emily Ratajkowski looks so chic in a ‘60s inspired white Zimmerman dress and she’s rockin’ those over the knee boots with flair. Lust-worthy. Ribbed Knit Top // Skinny Jeans // Tote Bag // Sandals // Sunglasses // Cuff Bracelet // Bangle Miranda Kerr does transit in laidback luxe style. If only we could all have a limited edition Saint Laurent tote. Sigh. Loving the ribbed knit and cool, casual jeans; she makes a trans-Atlantic flight seem effortless. Bardot Top // Skinny Jeans // Bag // ...
